Ashtead Squash Rackets Club Ltd (ARSC or the Company) is a 'Private Company Limited By Guarantee', and owns the land and buildings associated with Ashtead Squash & Tennis Club (the Club), to whom it grants a licence to use the premises. Normally, any person becoming a member of the Club automatically becomes a member of ASRC, with a personal liability of £2 towards the assets of the Company in the event of it being wound up. In exceptional circumstances, the Directors reserve the right to refuse membership of the Company to any Club member. Anyone below 18 years of age cannot be a member of the Company.
Whilst the Directors do not get involved in the day-to-day running of the Club, they do oversee all of the Club's major projects and on-going financial health, as well as any issues related to the premises. They also hold regular meetings with the Club Chairman to discuss any major issues.
The Board of the Company currently comprises 6 Directors, some of whom are former Club Chairmen, and together they offer a wealth of experience and expertise in both Club affairs and in Company operation. The Directors are appointed annually at ASRC's AGM.
The current Directors are:
- Norman Thomas (Chairman)
- Graham Francis (Secretary)
- Tony Hill
